Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, wild-caught and freshly canned in Ketchikan, Alaska.
Sockeye salmon is exceptionally rich in omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA and DHA, which are crucial for maintaining heart health by reducing inflammation, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing risk factors for disease. It’s a high-quality protein source (approx. 46 grams of protein per can!) which helps to repair tissue, protect bone health, and maintain muscle mass.
Sockeye is packed with essential vitamins and minerals, and is an excellent source of several B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12), which are necessary for energy production, controlling inflammation, and protecting heart and brain health. Also a good source of vitamin D, crucial for bone health and immune function, and selenium, important for thyroid and hormonal health. I’m an Oregon native and I was introduced Oregon Choice tuna when I could buy it at a local independent grocer. My mom, who was also a fan, used to buy this by case and split it up to tuck a couple of cans in holiday gift boxes she was sending here and there because everyone who had had it a her home enjoyed it. All the Oregon Choice products are excellent and the tuna, in particular this no salt variety, is absolutely the best I have ever used. I’m living in another state now and so appreciate that I can have Oregon Choice shipped because try as I might to find another tuna on shelves that comes close to it, I can’t. Simply the best.
